Abstract:
The electrochemistry of three selected Pd-SCS-pincer complexes whose catalytic activity is interesting for dehalogenation reactions, e.g. in the range of groundwater remediation, was investigated. In order to define their electrochemical properties two electroanalytical methods were used, cyclic voltammetry and electrolysis.
Cyclic voltammetry of the Pd-SCS-pincer complexes was performed in a solution of 0.1 M (n-Bu)4NPF6/CH2Cl2 electrolyte with a Pt disc electrode as working electrode using various conditions (concentration, scan rate). The complexes can be oxidised, the products of the electron transfer react irreversibly. Possibly, the ligand was cleaved from the central atom.
Adsorption effects of the electrodes were observed as the result of the electrolysis of the Pd-SCS-pincer complexes in monitoring experiments.
