Inhaltszusammenfassung:

Abstract:

Interpreted in the context of a theory of theatricality, as a production of signs and of the corresponding audience, the terrorist acts gain an analytical distance. What occurred then, was not the incarnation of evil itse(fbut demonstrative action, determined by the imperative of generating a maximal level of attention. However, the perception of these acts was in turn determined by accidental images and laborious reconstructions. This density of signs gave the attacks their extraordinary dimension.
